In the Portland OR area, PAGAC (Portland Area Global AIDS Coalition) supports over 200 organizations working with HIV positive people globally; 25 of these organizations will be present at the World AIDS Orphans Day Event. Under the moderation of Michael Kaplan (Executive Director, Cascade AIDS Project), this event will open dialogue with the public about a pandemic that still exists with over 16 million AIDS orphans worldwide, and help to inform state, national, and international policy. The event will have expert panelists such as Barry Childs, Laura Peterson, Shelly Krebs, and Belinda Beresford. These panelists are working directly with AIDS orphans, families and will discuss solutions to the crisis.
